He is Love

This post is to celebrate my precious baby boy Jamison. He is so lovely to me. It's amazing how two people can come together with God's help and create a life. A life that is totally different in personality and mannerism to the other life that God allowed you to create just 3 1/2 years earlier. Each life is just as important, but so very different and unique. Precious Jamos. My life wouldn't be the same without you.

I could get lost forever in those eyes...

It's Zoo Time

We had a fabulous time at the zoo the other week. Dear hubby and I already had the day off and decided we'd keep the boys home from daycare and set out on a family adventure to the zoo. The crowds were small and the temperature was perfect.

Everyone say CHEESE!

There was a lovely Mama and baby elephant. They were easy to fall in love with.

Jamison became fast friends with this little guy.

Even through this thick pane of glass this tiger kept a keen eye on Jamos and Jamos kept a weary eye on him. Jamos even jumped back a few times when he walked by. It's amazing how he already gets the predator and prey roles...That tiger looked hungry.

After the run in with the real deal he wanted nothing to do with this tiger...metal or not. He was outta there!

The fearless Camden conquered the tiger with his sinister smile.

After a long and exhausting day at the zoo we headed through the parking lot toward the car. Jamos having had as much as he could take and finally succumbed to the the call of Mr. Sandman, but not before he gave us some very funny footage of a kid trying to win the battle over gravity...gravity won.

Enjoy funny video below.

I hope that it doesn't make me a bad mommy that I watched this over and over again and laughed harder and harder. It broke my heart a little too....a little. My poor sleepy head.

It was a fun day.

Two by Two

Camden came home the other day with an assignment he had worked on in school. The directions on the top of the Noah's Ark themed assignment were...

Draw a matching animal so that you will have two.

Here is his precious artwork, which had my eyes streaming with tears of laughter and pride.

Tigers and tigers and tigers...oh my!

Curious George and his brother George W....:-)

We found Nemo! His time lost at sea has taken quite a toll.

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails!

That's SOME pig!

All kidding aside, I couldn't be more proud!
I give this assignment an A+ for talent and good humor. These are truly precious times.

Go Bucks!

vs.

So, sadly my beloved Buckeyes lost today against USC (15 to 18).  However, I must make this clear...I am NO fair-weather fan.  I will continue to show them my support and eventually the heartbreak will subside.  I give sincere kudos to the USC quarterback who said three "praise God's" in his sideline interview following the game.  In a time when everyone seems to thank God first and foremost, it sometimes feels like it's just the thing to say.  It felt to me like he REALLY meant it.  That makes me feel better already.  Good game to all involved.  And praises to God for allowing us to see another day and enjoy another game...and I'm not just saying that.  I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL!

Stay tuned for our annual family Buckeye pics. Here are some from last year...

Cherry Cordial

Mommy:  Camden do you want some Cherry Cordial ice cream?
Camden:  Yes!
(he begins devouring it)
Mommy:  How is your cherry cordial ice cream?
Camden:  It's great!
Mommy:  What's in it?
Camden:  Strawberries?
Mommy:  What's the name of it again?
Camden:  Cherry cordial ice cream
Mommy:  What's in it?
Camden:  Raspberries?
Mommy:  What's the name of it again?
Camden:  (thinking it through)...Cherry Cordial....Cherries!  It's got cherries in it!
Mommy:  What are those other things?
Camden: ...cordial?

We're Off!

Our little family of four is heading to see that big mouse down South. We're heading to Disneyworld! This is our first family vacation, the first time my little ones will be on a plane, and the first time my littlest one will head out of state. I'm so excited and so nervous.

I'm a very nervous flyer when it's just me alone, but put my babies on a plan and I'm not sure we won't all need to be sedated. Thankfully we'll have the rock of our family "my dear hubby" to keep us all calm and in order. He'll have his work cut out for him.

We haven't told Camden we're going. We decided we'd wait until the morning of the trip to let him know. This will ensure genuine excitement and fascination in his eyes when we make the big revelation and also save us from days or even weeks of hearing the following:

"When are we going to Disneyworld?"

"Is today the day?"

"Is today the day?"

"Are we going tomorrow?"

"It's taking too long!"

"We're NEVER going to Disneyworld are we?"

"How long will it be before we go to Disneyworld?"

and on...

and on...

and on...

As you might expect we haven't packed a thing. My husband isn't worried at all. I however am a little unsure that we won't leave without something critical to the trip. My usual motto is, if we have the kids and my wedding ring, we can buy anything else we need and although I work best under pressure, I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this little or should i say GREAT BIG procrastination. Oh well, pack we must and pack we will.

So off we'll go to Florida, our little family of four and before you think I haven't thought about it, I completely understand that our little one year old won't remember anything about the trip and I'm fully expecting to be holding him for the whole vacation. I prepared to do what mommy's do. I'll make the best of it. In a couple of years we'll go back and watch the fascination in Jamos's eyes when we make the big announcement to him that we're going to Disneyworld...again!

We picked up a pizza last night.
Camden: Why can't I have a piece of pizza?
Mommy: The pizza is really hot!
Mommy: It's a hot like a hot tamale.
Camden: To which Molly...to your Molly or to my Molly?

The Color Purple

You and me, Us never part, Makidada

You and me, Us have one heart, Makidada

Ain't no ocean, Ain't no sea,Makidada

Keep my sistah way from me, Makidada

We took a family trip to the theater. It was a nice and rare outing for us. One of those things we love but almost never take the time to do. We went to The Ohio Theater and enjoyed Oprah Winfrey’s musical rendition of The Color Purple. Although we were slightly disappointed in our $70.00 seats (A man kept laughing and bouncing back in his chair, much to the dismay of my dad’s knee.)

It was nice to be out together. We enjoyed dinner at Mitchell’s Steak House. It was a high priced but very enjoyable meal.

We had 5:30 dinner reservations to give us plenty of time for an 8:00 show. The restaurant was beautiful and in grand womanly tradition, we took group trips to the ladies room to
“powder our noses”.

It was such a lovely dinner all paired off as couples.

Our men looked dapper and smelled so lovely.

We had a lot of laughs and even got to enjoy dessert, which is also an extremely rare treat.

The running joke at the table was the GIANT glass of tawny port that mom got.

...or was it the tiny glass of tawny port?

It was a warm, but windy day. We had a very nice walk over to the theater and got a few more pictures on the way.

The theater was beautiful as usual. Once we arrived at the theater we proceeded our climb to the nosebleed section...
...the $70.00 a ticket nosebleed section!

We took advantage of our lovely surroundings for another photo opportunity.

The show was great.

None of the songs we all fell in love with from the movie were in the show.
But alas, my old favorite songs from The Color Purple movie...

“You and me Us never part, Makidada”

Align Center
“Sistah, you’ve been on my mind, oh sistah we’re two of a kind…”

Maybe, God...is tryin…to tell you somethin! Maybe…God is…tryin….I hear you Lord!”

...have been joined by some new favorites…

“Push the button…push the button...you got to push it if you wanna come in”

“Dear God I love this woman, my friend Sophia,
Harpo he love her and he smile every time he see her,
Ain’t never seen nothing like it, Cow pushing the bull around,
Ain’t afraid of nothing when she lay her law down!”

“’When a man raise his hand...Hell No!”

“Maybe you're too beautiful, too beautiful for words”

It was a warm, breezy and happy ending to the evening.

We really should do this more often.

The End.
